Personal is Political
We live our individual, personal lives, with our career goals, and personal dreams and aspirations, but can we still contend that these are not affected by larger political themes? That who we are and what we want to be, is not affected by the larger ways in which our society functions? That how we think and interact with the world, can be separated from how the world in itself works?
The ‘politics’ of the world composes of the understanding of how it works, and how power in it works. And as beings whose personal lives are part of this world and are shaped by this very world, we attempt to understand and write about how it does so. How our personal yearnings are also highly political in nature.
